For over twenty years I’ve worked as a freelance actor in theatre, film, TV, & voiceover.

BSL/English Trainee Sign Language Interpreter▫️(TSLI)

Having worked as a Communication Support Worker, (CSW), for many years within the domains of education & retail, I’m currently in the final year of my Signature Level 6 Diploma in Sign Language Interpreting & Translation course, as delivered by Bruce & Delfosse Interpreter Training.

I work in both English & British Sign Language to facilitate one & two-way communication between deaf & hearing people in a variety of settings including; event platform work; TV & film sets; theatre rehearsal rooms; schools, colleges & universities; corporate offices; & retail.

Corporate Actor▫️Workshop Leader▫️Facilitator▫️Industry Mentor

In addition to my careers in performance & BSL/English interpreting, I have worked in both the corporate & educational sectors, doing such things as role-play, training films, voiceovers, presenting, devising, collaborations & delivering a range of workshops & mentoring.

Work includes; co-devising & performing immersive corporate experience at Autosport International’s The Racing Car Show, disseminating key historical facts about Williams F1; creating & delivering drama workshops for the BBC’s learning & participation project ‘Blast’, advocating participation in the arts; co-creating & delivering ‘Creative Encounters’, a speed-dating style networking event in Birmingham forging connections between regional creative practitioners; facilitating post-show discussions with parents & carers of children with additional needs & profound disability for Women & Theatre in partnership with the charity Scope; mentoring young people at Birmingham Orminston Academy (BOA), improving individual achievements in Performing Arts pathways; & delivery of Shakespeare workshops to early years, KS1 & KS2 pupils nationally, for West End In Schools.
